College Highlights

During the last ten years, the college has made rapid strides in spite of Governement apathy precisely due to the dynamism of some Principals like Prof. Gopal Ghosh, Prof. Krushna Kanta Das and Dr. Debendra Nath Rout. Because of their collective effort and the efforts of the Principals that follwed them the college can boast of the following.

Guest House
The College has its own guest house. Raised primarily by the institution's own funds and the profits made by the college co-operative store, it has three well-furnished suites.

Jubilee Commemoration Building
Raised by the Alumni Association with support from college authorities over the years, the building has three stories measuring 5000 sqft. It houses the State Bank of India, the college co-operative store, the Alumni Office, the Teacher's Common Room and the Examinations section.

Vigyan Bhawan
Built by the Alumni Association with active support of the college, this is the new showpiece of the college. A building in three stories measuring 10,500 sqft. it houses the senior B.Sc. Chem. Lab., a modern auditorium and the proposed examination / valuation hall.

Post Office cum Security Post
A small but cute structure, this building has been raised by the Alumni with the co-operation from the college authorities. Located at the college gate, this small cottage like structure beautifies the facade of the college.

New Campus With Proposed Self Financing Block
Basically with the efforts of the Alumni Association, the Brahma Samaj Land has been acquired and a new grand self-financing Block is proposed to be established there.

Indoor Badminton Court
Thanks to the dynamism of the college authorities, F.M. College now has an indoor badminton court where the students can practise throughout the year.

Multigym
The college has a multi-gym which has helped the students in body building. It has helped in improving the athletic atmosphere of the college.

Interlink the Department with EPABX
The various departments of the college have been interlinked by EPABX thereby faciliting better co-ordination in teaching and administration.

Multipurpose Co-Operative Store

F. M. College is the only college which has a vibrant, profit making co-operative store dealing in books, stationary and consumer items.

Fakir Mohan Natya Parishad and Professor's club

These twin cultural entities have boosted the cultural atmosphere of the college. While the first one, an organisation of five decades with non-teaching employees of the college being its members promotes dance and drama, the latter a younger organisation engages itself in intellectual and cultural activities like organising seminars and staging plays.

Not only at the level of infrastructure, academically the college has made some remarkable . progress. In addition to honours in 19 departments and P.G. in five deportments new self financing course have been opened with employment potential.

d) P.G. Diploma in Customer Contact Service Management (PGDCCSM)
Duration: 1 Year Diploma Course
Course Fees: Rs. 10,000/

e) Computer Point
A Joint venture, it gives certificate courses in computer only to college students as part of a computer literacy programme.
